Jarid Altmark

Jarid Altmark is a multi-award-winning cake artist from South Florida who has been making cakes since he was 12 years old. Jarid fell in love with the artistry behind the craft after watching shows like Ace of Cakes, Food Network Challenge and Cake Boss. Jarid competed in his first cake competition at the age of 14 and has since won several awards in competitions at the student and professional level. Jarid founded Jarid’s Awesome Cakes with the help of his parents in 2014 when he began making cakes for all occasions for clients. He received features in publications like American Cake Decorating Magazine, Cake Masters Magazine, UCF Today, Entertainment Weekly, and WESH2 News. Jarid, 20 years old, is a full-time student who travels the country teaching his craft and judging several professional sugar art competitions including Soflo Cake and Candy Expo, The Cake Bar Cake Show, and The Savannah Gingerbread House Competition--mentored by Chef Nicholas Lodge. 

 

In 2018, Jarid applied and competed in Halloween Wars (Season 9) as the youngest competitor to ever compete. Since then, Jarid has competed in two other Food Network competitions including Holiday Wars (Season 1) where his team won the first episode, and the show that inspired his career, Food Network Challenge where he placed second (Season 14). 

 

Jarid is a graduate from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in Screenwriting. He hopes to continue his passion for storytelling and entertaining in the future.
